HERE'S HSU! (WITH IMPORTANT UPDATE)
Dropping unlawful flight charges is a routine thing. Unless a federal crime is involved, the unlawful flight chicanery is the only way to get the FBI and Marshal's Service involved. Once Hsu is back in CA he is subject to their jurisdiction and is no longer "in flight."

With the Governator in office CA officials will at least pay lip service to an investigation, but no one in politics wants to kill anyone's "golden goose."
Remember, party lines are all for show. The principal goal of all federal officeholders is reelection, and that takes bucks. Hsu may get a slap on the wrist but someone has probably already popped up to replace him. If the Republicrats make too much noise the DemocRATS will dump on some of their big fundraisers and that will pinch everyone.
Just remember that government thrives on crisis and exists only to provide lucrative employment for the otherwise unemployable.
